Australia Post First Day Covers
From March 1970 Australia Post issued a specific First Day cover with each issue. From 1980 these were usually associated with a national FDI Postmark to complement the issue. This was sometimes duplicated in Western Australia, a practice which ceased the end of June 1992. Initially these Complementary Postmarks were only allowed on official Australia Post Covers, however from October 1987 they could appear on other covers.
