International Rules
In a change of tactics Australia choose a
team of smaller mobile players, not bases on the All Australian Team. It
proved to be a coaching triumph with Australia winning both games by a
record 36pts at Subiaco and 21 pts at Telstra Dome.

2005 SANFL Premiers
Central Districts defeated Eagles by 28 pts at the
Grand Final played at AAMI Stadium on the 2nd October 2005.

2005 AFL Premiers
On
24th September 2005 the AFL's ugly
duckling, the
Sydney Swans won their first AFL Premiership in 72 years by defeating
the West Coast Eagles by 4 points in a dour tight struggle. The final
score was Sydney 8.10.58 to the Eagles 7.12.54. Australia Post issued
a
Souvenir Stamp Sheet on the
26th September 2005.
This follows a precedent
that was started in 2004 with a souvenir sheet to celebrate Port
Adelaide's Victory. |
