Robbie Flower

Robbie Flower was the player chosen by the Melbourne Football Club to be its representative on the inside of the Melbourne Stamp Booklet.

He played 272 games, a club record, for Melbourne between 1973 and 1987. He kicked 315 goals from the wing and won the club's Best and Fairest in 1977.

He captained the club from 1981 to 1987. In his last season Melbourne made the finals for the first time in his career but lost the preliminary final to Hawthorn after Jim Stynes ran across the mark and Gary Buckenara received a 15 metre penalty after the siren had blown and kicked a goal to win the game for the Hawks.

Flower was inducted into the Hall of Fame members, players section from 1961-1955, during the Centenary Season.
