Bob Rose

Bob Rose was the player chosen by the Collingwood Football Club to be its representative on the inside of the Collingwood Stamp Booklet.

He has played 152 games for Collingwood between 1946 and 1955. He then returned to coach the Magpies from 1964-71 and 1985-86.

He won the club's Best and Fairest, the Copeland Trophy, in 1949 and 1951-53. As a player he won a premiership in 1953 but despite coaching Collingwood in three grand finals he failed to win one as a coach.

Bob Rose was inducted into the Hall of Fame during the Centenary Season as a player in the era 1931 to 1960.

In 1997 Bob Rose was picked in the centre in Collingwood's Team of the Century.

On the 28th March 2001 the second annual  meeting of the "Premiership Players Club" was held at the MCG to help raise funds for charity.  Bob Rose in the selvedge of the map and globe stamp was displayed on a first day covers by Havilah Enterprises.
